How Armacel was developed

Armacels's space aged composite material is based on the technology developed for the Space Station Freedom and military armor utilized on the Sikorsky’s UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter.

Armacel is blended from a unique mixture of components which is formed and molded to meet a wide variety of applications. It is lightweight and flexible, which affords a degree of comfort never before experienced by wearers of body armor. Furthermore, it is manufactured with the same rigid quality control standards used for aerospace and military contracts.

In addition, Armacel's material is resistant to ultraviolet rays and typical household chemicals, and will not absorb water, which could be useful for marine applications.

Armacel's vests are designed to defend the upper body’s vital organs against ballistic penetration from all angles. In addition, the armor material is resistant to attack by sharp edged instruments, as well as jagged fragments from explosions.
One of Armacel’s signature feature is it’s *molded and fused* cardiac trauma protection shield. This shield replaces, and is significantly superior to, the traditional steel plate insert or other inserts placed into a front pocket of armored vest.
